Abstract

Schistosomiasis has been for a long time been recognized as a common parasitic infection in domestic animals in Africa, but it is only recent years that the disease had been recognized as possible veterinary problem. However, accumulating experimental studies and outbreaks pf clinical schistomiasis occasionally reported leave no doubt that the disease at least under conditions favouring intensive disease transmission may be of major Veterinary importance due to high mortality and morbidity.
