Abstract

The future course of the Veterinary Profession in Tanzania will depend largely on two factors. The first of them is the scope and direction of its organizational activities, and this was mentioned in the previous issue of the Bulletin in connection with the transfer of Veterinary Services to the Ministry of Livestock Development and Natural Resources. The second is the standard of teaching in the Veterinary School and its relevance to the local conditions. This is partly attended to in the following article on the Veterinary Education. The crucial point is how to maintain a continuous contact with the progress of Veterinary Services and at the same time serve the specific needs of the country. New avenues and new approaches should be explored. The time to do is now when the Veterinary School is still in its formative years
