Abstract

I am happy to report that we are almost catching up now, Volume 10 has come out early in the year and Volume 11 should be out before December this year, ready for the annual TVA Scientific Conference.  This Volume has many articles all of which are informative and interesting. Like the last Volume we have for you, letters to the Editor and feature articles as well as the usual scientific papers. The feature articles on Control of Poultry Diseases and on Biotechnology are interesting and the former has immediate practical use. The case report on outbreak of Anthrax among Hippos is challenging in that we should go beyond our Domestic animals in
our practice. More such case reports are needed. The response from our readers is once again very encouraging. We have received many Manuscripts for consideration for publication in Volume 11 , I am sure at this rate Volume 12 will come out on time and hopefully in two separate numbers. However, contributors from the field and research stations and from non-animal health fields have been very few, I would like to call upon you to respond and share your knowledge with others, submit your articles now. During the last TVA General Meeting, it was agreed that the Bulletin's name be changed to Tanzania Veterinary Journal to reflect the scientific nature of our Journal. That change will be effected as from Volume 11. I would like to thank members of the Scientific Editorial Board for tirelessly reviewing the submitted manuscripts without delay. My thanks are once again due to DANIDA through the Project Coordinator and to the Dean Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, SUA, for availing funds for printing Volume 10. Dr. R.R. Kazwala did the computer type-setting for which I am moat grateful. Lastly my thanks are due to Miss Judith Mbena for computer-typing the whole Volume.
