Abstract

Efficacy studies using a preparation of 6% w/v ethion dissolved in rapeseed oil were conducted in cattle in three trials near Morogoro town. Trials 1, 2 and 3 consisted of 4, 9 and l2 cattle respectively. The results indicate partial cleaning of ticks in trials 1 and 3 and a 100% cleaning within the first week in trial 2. This inconsistency in the results doesn't favour commercial production of the pour-on formulation at this stage.
