Abstract

Bacteria and Fungi isolated in Tanzania for 18 years (1965 -  1982) are reported . The commonest pathogenic bacteria isolated were E coli , Salmonella spp., Streptococcus spp. and Staphylococcus aureus . Most specimens submitted during the 18 years period were of chicken and bovine origin and the majority originated from Dar es Salaam and Coast Regions.
