Abstract

General relationship of Veterinary Sciences to other Sciences represented by the Faculties of Medicine, Science and Agriculture as well as special relations which influence the development of Veterinary Sciences in various areas through such local conditions as the climate, economic requirements and the structure of the society were discussed. The diverse development of the contemporary Veterinary Sciences due to their regional and special relationship was exemplified through modifications of the Veterinary Sciences in Australia, Europe and Africa. The Tanzanian situation was studied and it has been concluded that the strong medical component of the Veterinary Sciences in Tanzania should be maintained and that preventive medicine and public health, food hygiene and subjects comprising
